This issue of Caesurae Vol 6: 1, includes translations and critical essays on translation from eastern India. We have not fixed any period for choosing the translations from this region nor have we zeroed in on any one genre of literature. So, the issue contains poetry, short stories, essays in translation along with a contribution which includes a painting with linguistic translation of a text by the translator himself. Interdisciplinary translation may be subsumed under the rubrics of cultural translation, creating a special language for the reader and perceiver. Altogether there are seven translations of various texts in the first section and the second section includes three critical essays on translation studies of texts from eastern India.
